German borders closed. Except for asylum seekers?

The Treaty on the EU's working method contains a clause, according to which EU member states can treat asylum applications more strictly in the event of public order threats.

That was explained by expert European law, Daniel Thym.

The German Ministry of the Interior has not yet announced its intention to apply this clause. (source)

Beatrix von Storch, Deputy Chairman of the AfD in the German Bundestag:

"Public life has largely come to a standstill, the economy is on its knees, but asylum seekers are allowed to enter without restriction."
