Just act normal!

It regularly happens to me that I have little or no time for a few days to quietly go through the mail or to read up on all kinds of magazines. The mail then temporarily accumulates until the next opportunity arises to be sorted out. Yesterday evening another “post” moment occurred and this time I had a surprise in the pile. There was a Gelderlander newspaper in between! Normally I protect myself from this kind of reading and I am definitely not a subscriber, so I suspect this copy ended up in my mailbox by accident. Nevertheless, I consider it necessary every now and then, against my better judgement, to once again “open up” to what dissenters have to say. And so I began to struggle through the matter. Now I'm only on page four and there is already something that has touched me so much that I want to share this with you. The subject of my next diatribe is the frontman of the band Normal or rather abnormal.

In a minuscule small box it says in bold letters: “Bennie Jolink arouses anger on Facebook”. For anyone who is not familiar with the person Bennie Jolink I will give a short explanation. The man in question is the frontman of music band Normal. This rock group, founded in 1974 and founder of the so-called farmer's rock, is especially popular in the Achterhoek, where the group also comes from. Normal is mainly known for singing in Achterhoek dialect and hits such as Oerend hard, which was released in 1977. Personally, I have almost nothing to do with this band or with the genre of farmer's rock in that respect, but I cannot deny that at the time, in a slightly inebriated state, I still shouted the “extremely loud” during parties at the stable where my horses used to be stabled. Anyway, I digress, so that's the brief explanation and I will continue my speech.

Gut again? Was the first thought that came to my mind when reading this title. This is because I seem to remember that this figure had already been discredited years ago. At the time, it was again a lot of anger towards Jolink because he had portrayed Geert Wilders together with Adolf Hitler and Anders Breivik in a particularly tasteless way. I could and can vividly imagine the anger that many experienced at that moment. Personally, I was not only disgusted by the horrific portrait made by this amateur painter, I was also horrified by his expressions on the whole. In the link below you can read a number of statements by Jolink in which it becomes clear almost immediately what I mean.

This time Jolink did not provoke the frenzy of many by expressing himself politically, but by expressing himself very shortsighted socially. This round, Jolink announced that from now on all people not vaccinated against corona should be called AAW. And the abbreviation AAW stands for retarded antisocial wappie, according to Jolink. The fact that Jolink, wallowing in self-pity, once again dismisses a large part of the population as stupid, has not escaped the notice of many. As a result, within an hour of posting his speech, he was overwhelmed with hundreds of angry and sometimes even savage responses. In the article you can also read a lot of cry from a Jolink who apparently does not realize that he also hits a large part of his own supporters in the head with his utterances. You can also read how much the poor man has personally suffered from all the corona vicissitudes, which made the poor poor person feel a real depression approaching. But he can console himself because depressed or not, something has resulted from it. The article therefore concluded with, in my opinion, vulgar advertising for the product that resulted from Jolink's depression, which I will not mention specifically in this article, as I prefer to try to refrain from cheap promotional talk. As far as I haven't done that unintentionally so far. At the end of this article I only have the following to report.

I believe that everyone is free to express their personal views, however disgusting they may be at times. That's what I stand for! And just to clarify this point of view, just to quote the following quote: “I detest what you say, but I will defend your right to say it with my life. – Voltaire (French philosopher). With this in mind, it is therefore my right to act against Joling's statements. That is why I end this article by expressing my absolute aversion to Jolink's short-sightedness and stupid views and by defining his politically colored “Wilders” portrait of the time as abhorrent nonsense. For the record,

Bennie Jolink, I think you are a senile arrogant but above all a sidelined man and I think you would be wiser to keep your petty fantasies to yourself in the future. Perhaps there will still be a few who are prepared not to put all your musical works away as “flat nonsense”. In any case, you lost me as a listener a long time ago.
