93 doctors make an urgent appeal: do not give corona vaccine to children
No fewer than 93 Israeli doctors have signed a letter calling for corona vaccines not to be given to children. Doctors point out that the prevailing view within the scientific community is that the vaccine cannot cause group immunity. For that reason, according to the doctors, vaccinating children is not justified.
They add that it is still unclear whether the vaccine can prevent the spread of the virus and for how long it will provide protection. The doctors write that new variants are continuously emerging that may be resistant to the vaccine.
"We must not put a handful of children at risk through mass vaccination against a disease that is not dangerous to them," write the 93 doctors. "It cannot be ruled out that the vaccine may have long-term adverse effects that have not yet been discovered, including effects on growth, the reproductive system or fertility."
Children must be able to return to normal quickly, testing and isolation must end, and there must be no distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated in public places, say the doctors.
