Vaccinating healthy children is irresponsible
|The Physicians Collective is deeply concerned and displeased with the Health Council's advice to 'make BioNTech/Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine available to all adolescents aged 12 to 17 who wish to use it'.
The vast majority of children and young people have no or only mild symptoms of the virus and, in addition, children have hardly any share in the spread of the corona virus. When children are vaccinated 'for someone else' for the first time in history, their safety in the medium to long term must be unequivocally established. That indisputable safety cannot yet be established. We now know that the chance that a young person up to 17 years old will develop myocarditis after vaccination is one in fifteen thousand. Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle that can lead to heart muscle decay and permanent heart damage. It is a serious heart disease that does not normally occur in young people. Other possible serious side effects are still unknown. It is unimaginable that the Health Council ignores these facts and ethics. We consider it irresponsible to vaccinate children with vaccines that are still in the research phase.
We emphatically called on the House of Representatives and outgoing minister De Jonge not to make a hasty decision and sent a letter to the standing committee for Health, Welfare and Sport on 14 June: “Let's not gamble with our children”.
General practitioner Bart van Tienen in EenVandaag
In broadcast of June 29, 2021, EenVandaag spent attention to the advice of the Health Council. EenVandaag leaves its proponent, pediatrician Károly Illy, OMT member and chairman of the Dutch Association for Pediatrics (NVK), and opponent, GP Bart van Tienen, who is a member of the Doctors Collective, speaks.
New variants don't make people sicker
In the studio, Károly Illy addresses the concerns of Van Tienen live, who also speaks on behalf of the Doctors Collective. Illy mentions the so-called Delta variant that is on the rise as motivation to vaccinate children. According to him, this variant will ensure that the next wave will come after the summer. 'RIVM models show that,' says Illy. According to the pediatrician and OMT member, if we vaccinate teenagers we will get 'less hospital admissions, maybe fewer ICU admissions and infections can be reduced'.
Incorrect estimates of RIVM models
Just as there is now constant talk of the Delta variant, there were also the British, Indian and Brazilian variants last winter. In the sketched RIVM models, the British variant seemed to get a huge share and to be a lot more deadly. The curfew measure was also introduced in the Netherlands based on this estimate. Estimates by the RIVM turned out to be incorrect.
The Doctors Collective emphasizes that we should not look at the number of 'tested positive' and/or infections, but at the number of people admitted to hospital. In addition, all risk groups – ie the people most likely to be hospitalized – have already been vaccinated.
Will there be pressure on hospitals again in the autumn? Yes, we certainly think so. But that has to do with the fact that the demand for care is increasing and the government is doing nothing to tackle this problem that has been going on for years. In addition, every winter there is a peak in hospital admissions and healthcare is put to the test. Why should we vaccinate healthy children (with all the associated risks) to solve the capacity problems in care?
In our opinion, the conclusion must be that the threat of the "dangers" of new virus variants by OMT, RIVM, WHO and others is unfounded and irresponsible and must stop immediately. The care capacity problem must be addressed.
Recent report likely links mRNA vaccination and heart disease
Illy also states that 'serious side effects are not too bad' and he claims that 'the Doctors Collective bases its facts on outdated research'. We strongly disagree with this.
We, and also GP Bart van Tienen, refer to the recent report from CDC with the adverse events reported in VAERS, US RIVM/Lareb, dated June 23, 2021. According to the CDC, there is "a likely link" between the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) and myocarditis/pericarditis (heart disease) in teens and young adults. Myocarditis is a very serious side effect. This is taken lightly, but that is unjustified. Boys are especially at risk, according to the CDC report. And yes: these side effects also occur in the group 12 to 17 years. For boys of this age, there were about 11 reports per million doses of the second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine as of June 66. That is one case per XNUMX second injections. Disturbing and therefore urgent news. For example, a large group of doctors from Israel because of the occurrence of these side effects summoned the government to stop vaccinations in young people.
OMT makes serious mistake
Illy claims that the vaccines have now been distributed to millions of children around the world and that the vaccine and side effects have been well researched. That is an incorrect statement. There is no research linked to these millions of vaccinated children and registration of possible side effects in vaccinated children (and adults) is very substandard. As an OMT member, he makes a very serious mistake here.
We also emphasize once again that there may be more 'surprises' in the near future. The American medical researcher Robert Malone – one of the inventors of the mRNA vaccine technique, of course – is not reassured.
