French President Emmanuel Macron has spoken out about the European aid package to the Netherlands and Germany.
The 42-year-old Frenchman hits the Netherlands in the British newspaper Financial Times. Macron is convinced that the eurobonds are urgently needed to help countries such as Greece and Italy. Macron also let us know that we have to look ahead and forget the past, as it were. The Netherlands and Germany are said to be too concerned with past debts and budget problems, according to the French president. A majority of the European Parliament is in favor of the Eurobond.
On Thursday 23 April, several heads of government will again discuss how to deal with the corona crisis. Financing in particular would become a top priority during these talks.
