Five Syrian people have officially regained Dutch citizenship. They are also no longer an unwanted person.
"At the request of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND), the revocation of citizenship in similar cases has now also been reversed," the Ministry of Justice and Security said.
The jihadists had joined prohibited groups in Syria and Iraq.
The Council of State decided that Dutch citizenship was wrongfully taken away from them, because at the time the jihadists were active in these groups, these organizations had not yet been declared prohibited.
The room is furious.
