Statutory and private doctors are apparently increasingly withdrawing from the corona vaccination campaign. This is based on figures from the Robert Koch Institute available to WELT AM SONNTAG.
In the week of August 2-8, only 29.300 practices vaccinated patients against the coronavirus and thus significantly fewer than were involved in the campaign.
The orders for vaccines from practice have also been falling since June, according to figures from the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV).
The chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Doctors, Andreas Gassen, states that a large number of practices are currently withdrawing from the vaccination process. It is true that vaccination rates are falling. “But we must not forget that fortunately more and more people are now fully vaccinated”, he said.
At the same time as the doctors are withdrawing, the states are already planning to close their vaccination centers. At the request of WELT AM SONNTAG, eleven of the 16 responsible ministries announced that their facilities would be closed completely or at least largely by September 30 at the latest. Bavaria and Schleswig-Holstein want to maintain centers on a large scale, at least with reduced capacity or in “standby mode”.
